Quantitative radioisotope renography: the derivation of physiological data by deconvolution analysis using a single-injection technique.

چکیده
1. An improved method is presented for quantifying all the information relating to individual kidney function that is contained in the renogram. 2. From the convolution theorem, functions are derived which are equivalent to the renograms that would be obtained by simultaneous injections of the indicator into each renal artery, fractionated according to renal blood flow. 3. The ‘pulse-input’ renograms so derived can have the blood background subtracted by a process of ‘kinetic discrimination’, which dispenses with the prior injection of human serum albumin. 4. The ‘pulse-input’ renograms with blood background subtracted are analysed by the techniques used in conventional indicator dilution methods. 5. The value of this approach in clinical and experimental work is illustrated by comparison of examples drawn from 400 consecutive studies of patients with normal data.

Assessment of deconvolution technique for diagnosis of hydronephrosis in infants (under 6 months) [persian]
Introduction: Hydronephrosis is one of the major causes of referring infants for nuclear medicine investigation. Renal dynamic study is the most reliable investigation for such children. However direct evaluation of renogram leads to generation of parameters that have no physiological interpretation. The configuration of renogram is very much dependent upon the rate at which radiopharmace...
متن کاملCalculation of 99mTc-DTPA transit times in normal kidney [Persian]
Introduction: Renal dynamic study is a well-established and popular test in routine practice of nuclear medicine. The test is non-invasive, rapid and unique in evaluation of the kidney function. In despite of its clinical values, the parameters derived from renogram are physiologically meaningless. That is due to the fact that renogram is not the true kidney function. From mathematical po...

Kathel, B. L. (1971). Archives of Disease in Childhood, 46, 314. Radioisotope renography as a renal function test in the newborn. Isotope renography has been carried out in 32 babies with neurogenic bladder due to spina bifida or with other urological lesions. The tracings can be interpreted according to the standards applicable to renography in older children. Comparison of renography and intr...
متن کاملEstimates of glomerular filtration rate from MR renography and tracer kinetic models.
PURPOSE To compare six methods for calculating the single-kidney glomerular filtration rate (GFR) from T(1)-weighted magnetic resonance (MR) renography (MRR) against reference radionuclide measurements. MATERIALS AND METHODS In 10 patients, GFR was determined using six published methods: the Baumann-Rudin model (BR), the Patlak-Rutland method (PR), the two-compartment model without bolus disp...
متن کاملRadionuclide studies in paediatric nephro-urology.
The main tool of radionuclide techniques applied to paediatric uro-nephrology is the quantitation of function, which is an information not easily obtained by other diagnostic modalities. The radiation burden is low. Drug sedation is only rarely needed, whatever the age of the patient. Accurate determination of glomerular filtration rate can be obtained by means of an intravenous injection of Cr...
